JANISE'S JIVIN' BOOK BLOG
Come get to know the ladies who run Janise's Jivin' Book Blog
Janise's Jivin' Owner and Reviewer
Becoming a blogger was somewhat sudden for me, I have been wondering how people got involved in the book world, get beyond just being a reader, one day I asked an author friend some questions on being a blogger and then literally the next day I did it, I became a blogger. I have always loved reading, it first started when I was in middle school when I found R.L. Stine. I fell in love with the mysteries and suspense and I wanted to read more. Moving forward to me being an adult, I found out about Dean Koontz, I read some of his stories. At that time I didn’t really know what I liked when it came to books genre's until I read his first book to Odd Thomas series, then I couldn’t get enough.
Jumping forward some more years, I now know what genres I like, I have favorite authors that I follow and will read whatever they publish. I have met some new authors to me in the past few years through Facebook and I have become close to a few. I have gotten to know their work and have enjoyed what they have published which has helped broaden my horizon on books. Now that I have some extra time in my life (now that my boys are all grown up and moving out of mama's house) I thought I would show my appreciation and gratitude to the authors I have read by starting my blog to help authors I know and new authors to me get the word out about any new releases, sales, re-releases or anything else they have. During this time I have become a beta reader for a few authors and I have started a team of reviewers so we can help leave honest reviews for their books.
This has been a new learning experience for myself, something I have enjoyed doing. I look forward to learning more, growing my blog and meeting new people, authors and readers alike. I have been to a few book signings and look forward to going to more. I may share my experience here on my blog page. While I am doing this I want to learn more about the book world and its huge industry.
In the past year (since I started my blog page on Facebook In January 2018) I have learned how much work it takes for an author to get their name out there, get there books noticed, read and get reviews on sites that sales them. I feel they can use all the help they can get and I am glad I have started this page. All that I plan on doing will be on my free time since I do work a full time job and sometimes have to take care of a loved one. So I hope you join me in my journey of growing as a blogger and meeting new authors and thank you for reading this, by all means I am not a writer just a reader.

Janise's Jivin' Assistant and Reviewer
I have always had a passion for reading, ever since I was a little girl and reading was instilled in me, that it was very important to read everyday, I have always read anything and everything I could get my hands on. During High school my English Literature teacher Mr. Schmidt encouraged me to broaden my horizon's with reading and to search out authors and their works, learn their writing styles and how to write a summary of what I had read, he was one of my favorite teachers who knew how important it was to seek out the book world and to read as much as you can, and to not judge a book by its cover or blurb but to open the pages and to dive in.
Then along came adult life, marriage, and children so reading took the back burner for a while but one day while I was at my local library just pursuing the shelves I happened upon the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series by Laurell K. Hamilton and my fire for reading was back and soon I found more new authors and more books and I couldn't get enough. I was at the library every other day getting new books and searching out or requesting new authors for my library to get for me. Soon I was looking for ways to write my reviews and share but wasn't sure how to do so online.
Then along came Janise and she showed me how to do so and showed me many trick's and added to my knowledge of leaving reviews for the authors I have read. She asked me to be a Reviewer for her blog and of course I said yes to the books, the authors and to her. Since becoming a reviewer for Janise I have read and met so many new to me Authors and become quick friends with them, so much so that I follow them, read what they write and try to share their works as much as I can, and tell my friends and Family who are readers about their works and get them hooked on them, I have become their book dealer in a since.
Now I am the Assistant to Janise's Jivin' Book Blog and I have enjoyed working with Janise this last year, it has been the best year of my life, we are two kindred spirits who have a love of reading, talking and sharing about Authors and their works. I look Forward to the rest of this year and the many years to come.
